I started my career in financial markets in 1994 as an equity trader making prices on the stock market to enable pensions funds and investment firms to buy and sell. At Barclays de Zoete Wedd I placed the first ever electronic order book trade in equities in the UK, a sign I’ve been working at the ‘coal face’ of finance for some time! I’ve worked in markets through several business cycles: 6 major market sell offs and a few boom periods. While I was an equity specialist in these roles, I have been responsible for managing institutional portfolios across all investment products. I have expertise in takeover situations, investment trusts and initial public offerings. I advised clients at some of the largest investment funds in the world, while working at some of the top financial companies including BZW, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, ING and a family office.
Outside of the city, I coached various rugby and squash teams: Saracens rugby Juniors for 8 years, ran Middlesex Junior County Squash Coaching groups for 2 years and the junior squash coaching programme at my local club for 5 years.
